What to Expect

Five surveys

  • Over the next year, you will be asked to take five online surveys about your job search and new job(s) after you find work. Each survey will take about 30 minutes. To begin, click the QR code in your invitation letter within five days of receipt.

Your participation is voluntary and confidential.

  • Your unemployment insurance benefits will not be affected by your choice to participate or not participate in this study. You may change your mind and leave the study at any time.

You will be paid $140 if you complete all parts of the study.

  • You will be paid $50 if you complete the first two surveys.

  • You will be paid another $30 for each additional survey you complete.

  • Details about the payment method (e.g., gift card or debit card, depending on which state you enroll from) will be provided when you sign up.

Risks and Benefits

  • There are no direct benefits to participation. However, the knowledge gained from this study will inform future guidance and policies to help job seekers and people who recently found work.

Removal from the Study

  • The Research Team can remove you from the study without your approval (e.g., for sharing survey links). If you are removed from this research, you will not receive any more surveys or payments.
